About FontsList.com

FontsList.com is an independent font directory. We catalogue typefaces and lettering styles, show honest previews, and record what can actually be verified about each one.

What the site does

Every font page carries four things: an editable preview, a short factual description, a details panel, and licence or source information. If we cannot verify a designer, a licence or a release date, the field says so instead of guessing. That rule costs us content and keeps the directory trustworthy.

What the site does not do

We do not re-host font files that belong to other people, we do not publish fake ratings or download counts, and we do not describe a commercial typeface as free because a copy exists somewhere. Where a family is published under an open licence, we link to the publisher's own page. Where lettering belongs to a trademarked property, the page stays informational.

Previews and fallbacks

Font previews use system fallback stacks from the same classification unless a licensed font file has been installed on the site. A fallback preview shows you the flavour of a category, not the exact letterforms, and every specimen page says so directly under the specimen.

Corrections

If a licence, designer or source on any page is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it. Details are on the contact page. Licence questions are covered in more depth in the font licensing guide.
